Let’s Count our Blessings…Each and Every Day!

I post this with sadness and an ache in my heart.  A very dear, sweet woman with whom I usually play volleyball has just informed me that she will not be playing this year.  She learned at the beginning of August that she has ALS — Lou Gehrig’s disease.  😦

We all hear about it and know that it is a very tragic fatal disease that takes its victims quickly.  And we all know that there is next to nothing that can be done to delay the inevitable, let alone cure it.  😦

I do, however, have one tiny glimmer of hope, since my “spiker friend” seems very open to learning about MCT oil, ketosis and eating a paleo diet.  We’ll see.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the benefits of our way of eating went beyond eliminating aches and pains, getting rid of inflammation, losing unwanted pounds around our bellies, providing protection against heart disease, curing fibro-myalgia and easing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease?  Yes, it would.  As I said, “We’ll see.”

In the meantime, Spike, enjoy every moment you have.  We love you.

About Audie Jean

I love volunteering for Thrift Shops for Nova West Island. I also spend a lot of time taking photos, making greeting cards, exploring on the computer, and doing all kinds of other things that stimulate learning. It is very important for me that I LEARN or DO something every day. I have a special fondness for milking cows, reading poetry, cutting grass, walking in the woods, chatting with my grandchildren, and much, much more. Life is indeed fun.
